Karen started teaching fitness classes at World Gym in Maryland in 2002 and returned to Virginia Beach in 2011. She has been teaching Spin @ 24/7 for over a year and loves the intimacy of the studio and the patrons even more. Her class design takes the participants through different energy levels, but always strives to make the mind/body connection with the bike allowing the rider to have their own personal ride while exercising in a group setting. Music is key to a good Spin class and Karen does her best to play a variety of songs that will motivate her class.
Karen is a certified Madd Dogg Spinning Instructor; a Les Mills Body Pump Instructor; a NETA certified personal trainer; a WaterArt aquatic instructor and a Silver Sneakers instructor. As a fitness instructor and personal trainer, Karen strives to know all of her clients personally so she can encourage them and motivate them to achieve their fitness goals. Success, Karen believes, is a personal achievement measured not so much in inches and pounds, but in self-esteem and self-worth, gained through discipline and commitment, both inside the gym and out. She is a navy wife with three children and is happy to be back in Virginia Beach.
In Karen’s full time capacity, she is the Fitness Supervisor at the Great Rec Center and has been employed with the City of Virginia Beach for three and half years.
